Saturday 15th October, 2022

10.45– 12.45 Workshop 2: Anne Aubin
Therapeutic Writing –
'Writing Your Way Out of Illness, Trauma and Pain'

A workshop exploring the therapeutic uses of writing, from journaling for meaning making, through poetry to helping others on their illness/trauma journeys. The workshop will include writing exercises, and opportunities to share one’s own experiences and writing, or to read from works of others whose writings have supported you on your journey. Your facilitator is a former child psychiatrist and psychotherapist who has herself written through a life-threatening illness to healing.

Participants will have the opportunity to think about journaling, and writing poetry, fiction and articles. Examples will be presented, and participants are invited to bring along any of their own writings, or works by other authors that have been therapeutic to read. Practical writing exercises will be included.
